The World House Choir will perform in the 4th annual celebration of the life and legacy of Antioch alumna and civil rights pioneer, Coretta Scott King, on Tuesday evening, April 25 at 7:00 in the Foundry Theater at Antioch College.
In the program entitled, Walk It With You: The Courage of Coretta Scott King, we will sing music drawn from our recent Langston Hughes Relevance and Resonance concert as well as African American Spirituals, music from the Anti-Apartheid struggle in South Africa and our most recent arranged choral commission, “I’m Gonna Walk It With You,” which emerges from the new post-election folk protest tradition. Christopher G. Smith will join us in “I’ll Make the Difference” and, as always, be prepared to join in community singing with the World House Choir.
The World House Choir aspires to walk in the courageous footsteps of Coretta Scott King. We raise our voice with songs that accentuate our common humanity and our inextricable connection to one another in our ongoing struggle for justice and equality.
The program is free and open to the public.
