The World House Choir will perform Thursday, June 19, as part of the 2025 Yellow Springs Celebration of Peace and Unity. This event commemorates both Juneteenth and the 60th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic 1965 commencement speech at the Antioch. The program starts at 5:30 PM and is located in “Red Square,” adjacent to Antioch’s Main Building.
The program features music, dancing, recitation from Dr. King’s speech, and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque. Earlier in the day, the celebration includes a 1:00 PM walking tour titled “Martin and Coretta’s Yellow Springs,” starting at the Coretta Scott King Center, followed by a 2:00–5:00 PM Community Day Celebration with vendors, performances, and activities for all ages.
The event is planned and sponsored by the Coretta Scott King Center for Cultural and Intellectual Freedom at Antioch College, the 365 Project, and the Yellow Springs Juneteenth Planning Committee for the 2025 Yellow Springs Celebration of Peace and Unity. All are welcome.
Later that week, on Saturday June 21, the choir will perform as part of Antioch’s 2025 Commencement ceremony taking place in the Foundry Theater, 920 Corry Street, Yellow Springs.
The World House Choir, known for our mission to inspire communities toward justice and equality through music, is honored to be part of these significant events.
