Sunday, March 8th is International Women’s Day. Join us at 4:00pm in the South Gym of Antioch’s Wellness Center for In Times Like These, a bold celebratory concert featuring a dynamic lineup of women artists that will strengthen our spirits and focus our hearts and minds on justice.
In addition to the World House Choir, the performance includes:
- A 5-women string band performing several Hazel and Alice songs;
- Singer Harriett Joseph returns with four young Haitian high school dancers to sing “Stand Up,” from the film Harriet;
- An ensemble from MUSE, Cincinnati’s Women’s Choir will preview a song, “Give Your Hands to Struggle” from the our upcoming collaborative program with MUSE in our tribute to Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon;
- A guest poet and two Antioch students performing “Bless This Land” by indigenous poet, Joy Harjo
And this won’t be a sit-back-and-listen kind of night. There will be ample opportunity to raise your voice in song as we continue building our powerful #SingingResistance movement together.
Feel free to wear your favorite political tee celebrating women, peace, justice, and love – shirts honoring the struggle for voting rights, reproductive freedom, peace, equality, and dignity for all.
Please note the new venue due to repairs being made on our Foundry Theater home:
