If you’ve thought about joining the World House Choir, now is the time.
We are accepting new singers on Monday August 22. Choir rehearsals are held each Monday from 7-8:30pm at the Foundry Theater [920 Corry St., Yellow Springs] on the campus of Antioch College. New singers are asked to arrive at 6:30pm on Monday August 22 for orientation and voice placement.
Our upcoming block of rehearsals is in preparation for our fall concerts scheduled for Thursday October 27 and Friday October 28. The working title for this concert is “Rise Up. Sing Out. March On.” Join us for this 10-week session.
The World House Choir sings to uplift and inspire. We work to build community and unite singers and our audiences. We strive to sing music that connects us to issues of justice and peace. Potential pieces for October include: “You Don’t Have to Ride Jim Crow,” from Bayard Rustin: The Man Behind the Dream, “Take Back the Guns” written for an anti-gun violence rally in Cincinnati in the 1970s and “Rise Up!” as sung by Andra Day.
Onsite childcare is offered on an “as needed” basis. Please email Abby at abbyinthevale@gmail.com if you need childcare as we begin Monday August 22. All voice parts are welcomed. Tenors and Basses are especially needed.
